On behalf of the Estate and surviving husband, children and parents of a 47-year old Florida woman killed in a rollover crash, The Ammons Law Firm has filed a lawsuit against Cooper Tire & Rubber Co. The woman was traveling as a passenger in an SUV when the vehicle’s left rear tire experienced a tread separation failure. The sudden tire disablement caused the driver to lose control of the vehicle and it rolled over. The woman sustained numerous injuries and died at the scene.
The tire that failed was a Futura Adventurer designed and manufactured by Cooper Tire & Rubber Company. In the lawsuit, Rob Ammons claims the tire was defective and that Cooper failed to utilize materials and processes that would have increased the strength and durability of the tire. It is further alleged in the lawsuit that Cooper designed and built the tire without known and inexpensive safety features that would have made it highly resistant to tread separation failure.
