Drilling Rig Accident Attorney Rob Ammons Files Lawsuit Against BP

A Texas floor and sustained serious permanent injuries during rigging down operations at a well site in the Panhandle. A rig was being disassembled in preparation for moving it when a large piece of equipment fell, striking the man in the head.

In a lawsuit filed by Rob Ammons on behalf of the 37-year-old injured worker and his wife, it is alleged that the well site’s owner, BP America Production Company, and the well site leader failed to ensure that equipment at the site was in good working order, that safety devices were functioning properly, that supervisors and safety men were properly positioned, that proper inspections were performed, that safety rules were enacted, and that operational and safety procedures were established and followed with respect to rigging down operations.

The worker’s wife was included in the lawsuit based on the loss of consortium she has suffered as a result of her husband’s catastrophic injuries, which include spinal cord trauma.

“It is crucial that exploration companies take the sincere initiative to provide for the safety of workers who provide such important work at their well sites,” commented Ammons.
