HOUSTON,TX August 18, 2010: Rob Ammons of The Ammons Law Firm has filed a lawsuit on behalf of Rogelio Lomeli a representative of the late Yesmit Rodriguez and two minor children. Rodriguez was killed after a tire defect caused her car to rollover.
The accident happened after the 1997 Mercury Mountaineer they were occupying overturned after its right rear tire, a Cooper Dominator Sport, failed by tread separation. The incident occurred because when the tread separated form the tire carcass, and induced the vehicle to enter a slide and roll over.
In the rollover, Yesmit Rodriguez sustained fatal injuries and two minor children were also injured.
“Ford Motor Company negligently designed, manufactured and assembled the Mountaineer SUV,” says Ammons. “The SUV lacked sufficient warnings to warn purchasers of the vehicle’s poor handling and propensity for loss of control and rollover. The Mountaineer was also improperly and inadequately tested by the Ford Motor Company.”
The Discount Tire Company of Texas are also named defendants in this lawsuit.
