Rob Ammons has filed suit against Ford Motor Company on behalf of a catastrophically injured 67-year-old Houston man.
The 2002 Mercury Grand Marquis the man was driving was struck in the rear driver side door by an F150. He was properly belted. In response to the side-impact collision, the driver side front airbag deployed. There were no side airbags in the Mercury Grand Marquis.
Rob Ammons claims in the lawsuit that the frontal airbag should not have deployed in this side-impact collision. Its unnecessary deployment under these circumstances, in combination with the forces created by the side-impact, caused the man’s body to move in a way that severely injured his cervical spine and resulted in permanent quadriplegia.
