On behalf of the parents and small children of a 25 year old El Paso man, The Ammons Law Firm has filed a lawsuit against Cooper Tire & Rubber Co. The young man was a rear seat passenger in an Explorer Sport Trac traveling on a local highway when the vehicle’s right rear tire came apart. The sudden tire failure sent the Sport Trac out of control and it rolled over, killing the father of four.
The tire was a Dominator Sport AT designed and manufactured by Cooper. In the wrongful death lawsuit, Rob Ammons claims the tire that failed was defectively designed and manufactured by Cooper. The allegations against the tire company include that improper materials and processes were used by poorly trained workers to build the tire, that the tire was not designed with the safety features necessary to improve its durability, and that quality controls at the manufacturing plant were sorely lacking.
