CenterPoint Pays After Employee Causes Houston Crash

The Ammons Law Firm negotiated a settlement in a case involving a CenterPoint truck that crashed into a small sedan, injuring a 34-year-old Harris County man.

The crash occurred when the operator of the power company’s truck failed to yield the right of way and entered an intersection when unsafe to do so.   Traffic was backed up on one of the intersection’s streets due to construction.  Although the company’s driver did not say anything about it to the investigating officer, he claimed (after Ammons filed the lawsuit) that he was signaled by “another driver” in the stopped traffic that he was being given the right of way.

“Companies need to do better to ensure that their vehicles are being operated only by competent, safe drivers,.” says Ammons.  “The motorists with whom they are sharing the roadways deserve nothing less.”
