Paralyzed Texas Woman Sues Kia

On behalf of a Texas woman, Attorneys have filed suit against Kia Motors. The lawsuit stems from a crash in which the 2015 Kia Sorento LX the woman was driving was rear-ended by a pick-up truck. The woman suffered a spinal cord injury in the crash that has rendered her tetraplegic.

In the lawsuit, The Ammons Law Firm claims the Kia Sorento is not crashworthy in rear-end collisions. It is alleged that the Sorento poorly manages crash forces in rear-impacts, dangerously increasing risk of injury to its occupants. In this crash, the woman’s seatback collapsed rearward in the collision, and the firm alleges this prevented her seat and seatbelt from offering any meaningful occupant protection. The seatback collapse caused the woman to suffer a catastrophic spinal cord injury.
