Zambrano Law Firm First Rio Grande Valley Firm to Bring Lawsuit Against Walmart after El Paso Shooting


October 7, 2019 McAllen, TX: The Zambrano Law Firm is the first Rio Grande Valley firm to file a lawsuit against Wal-Mart after the shooting in El Paso on August 3, 2019.

“I am honored to represent the mother of my high school friend to bring honor to his memory and punish all wrongdoers associated with this lawsuit,” said personal injury attorney Jesse Zambrano. “We want to make sure justice is served for my client and all related families who suffered tragic losses as a result of this senseless criminal act.”

Leonardo Campos was shopping when Patrick Crusius approached with an AK-47 assault rifle and began shooting. Crusius shot Leonardo Campos, who unfortunately did not survive. In all, Patrick Crusius murdered 22 and injured 24 more that day at a Wal-Mart in El Paso, Texas. Leonardo was living in El Paso with his wife Maribel Hernandez and her four children.

The suit claims Wal-Mart had a responsibility to protect its customers and Wal-Mart failed to live up to its legal duty because it did not employ security guards to patrol the store among other security measures. The El Paso Wal-Mart location where the shootings occurred does not appear to have had any armed guards for security, although a number of other Wal-Marts around the country do.
