Trucking Company to Compensate Mother of Texas Man Killed in Crash

The Ammons Law Firm has successfully concluded a wrongful death case against Stevens Transport, Inc., a trucking company, on behalf of a mother who lost her son in a fatal crash. The collision occurred when the driver of the tractor-trailer ignored a red light and plowed into the passenger side of a truck occupied by the young man, pushing the truck more than 600 feet. The officer investigating the crash determined the only factors contributing to the crash were committed by the commercial driver who was legally intoxicated at the time of the collision. The truck driver was charged with intoxication manslaughter and intoxication assault.

In a lawsuit filed by The Ammons Law Firm, Rob Ammons claimed that the big rig driver was grossly negligent for driving drunk and causing the crash. Ammons further argued that the driver’s employer, Stevens Transport Inc., was negligent in its hiring and driver supervision practices.

The man’s mother sought wrongful death damages that included loss of the positive benefits flowing from the love, comfort, companionship and society their son would have given them had he lived as well as the emotional pain, torment and suffering they experienced as a result of her loved one’s untimely and unnecessary death.
