The Ammons Law Firm has filed a lawsuit following a tragic crash in which the driver of an 18-wheeler struck a 2015 Toyota Sienna when approaching a controlled intersection. A family of six was traveling in the Sienna along with a family friend when the crash occurred and as a result, four family members died, including two children and their parents.
Attorneys Rob Ammons and Kacy Shindler allege in the lawsuit that the driver of the 18-wheeler was driving while distracted, speeding, and violated several applicable Texas Transportation Code provisions. Further, the lawsuit claims that the driver failed to timely apply his brakes to avoid the collision. As the 18-wheeler driver was furthering the business of his employer at the time of the crash, his employer is also named as a defendant due to their failure to properly train and supervise its drivers as well as for negligently entrusting the 18-wheeler to an unsafe driver.
“This speeding 18-wheeler driver destroyed a happy family and turned two children into orphans. We intend to hold the driver and his employer fully accountable,” Rob Ammons says.
