Attorney Rob Ammons of The Ammons Law Firm has filed a lawsuit after a man suffered serious injuries when the driver of a commercial vehicle hauling a bobcat excavator ran a red light. In the crash, the man was properly waiting to turn left at a green light when the commercial driver ignored a red light, crashing directly into the man’s vehicle.
Attorney Ammons alleges in the lawsuit that the driver of the commercial vehicle was traveling at an excessive speed, driving while distracted, failed to keep a proper lookout, and failed to take evasive actions to avoid the collision. At the time of the crash, the driver of the commercial vehicle was driving during the course and scope of his employment, deeming his employer vicariously liable. It is alleged by Ammons that the employer of the commercial vehicle driver knowingly put the public at risk when hiring unqualified and untrained drivers and refusing to properly train them before allowing them to drive commercial vehicles on public roadways.
