Rusk woman killed in motorcycle crash on Easter Sunday

MONTGOMERY COUNTY, Texas — A 45-year-old Rusk woman tragically died April 17 after the motorcycle she was riding on with her husband sustained a tire failure on northbound Interstate 69.

Local authorities said the rear tire of the victims’ 2007 Yamaha motorcycle separated just past Roman Forest Drive, causing the male driver to lose control of the bike and crash. His wife was pronounced dead at the scene. He was transported to Kingwood Hospital in stable condition.

An investigation into the accident is ongoing. Authorities have not released any additional information.
