Thoughts on the tractor-trailer accident in Vernon

The details of this crash are horrific, and we are grateful to learn there were no fatalities. Our thoughts are with the injured victims as they recover from their injuries. Our firm has the experience needed to conduct a thorough investigation into the cause of collisions like this and to pursue all opportunities for financial relief to those injured.

Accidents like these are a prime example of the need for comprehensive, regular safety training and state-of-the-art driver assist technology. Employers of tractor-trailer drivers are required to provide their employees with comprehensive safety training, as well as adequate supervision to ensure their drivers are utilizing such training. In our investigations, we often find that employers have neglected to fulfill either one or both duties to their employees, putting both their employees and fellow motorists at unnecessary risk. Findings of this nature allow our firm to formulate an aggressive legal strategy to ensure such employers are held accountable for their actions.

Alternatively, our investigations often reveal the tractor-trailers involved in collisions have not been equipped with readily available driver-assist technology. This technology is designed to alert drivers to stopped vehicles or other unexpected obstacles in their path, keep the vehicles in their lane, and more. In cases where this technology was not implemented, employers should be made to explain why. It also happens that the technology was installed but was not working correctly, thereby causing preventable accidents. In that case, we would turn to the technology manufacturer for answers and/or relief.

The victims here deserve answers and relief to help them move forward. Our firm has the requisite experience to find those answers and seek relief against those who may be responsible. We wish all of the victims a speedy recovery.
