An unidentified man was killed after being hit by an 18-wheeler on Rigsby in San Antonio

SAN ANTONIO, Texas – A man was pronounced dead at the scene of an accident after being hit and killed by a semi-truck in San Antonio. The fatal crash occurred around 9:02 p.m. on November 15, 2022, on Rigsby Street at Bermuda.

First responders at the crash site found the man unresponsive on the roadway beneath the truck. Life-saving measures were attempted but were unsuccessful.

Authorities are actively investigating the crash. No further information is available.

The victim’s family deserves answers about the crash and to pursue justice for their loved one.

Sadly, we see this scenario play out across the country nearly daily. Pedestrians are often struck by large vehicles when drivers are not paying attention to their surroundings or when truckers fail to avoid collisions with pedestrians. Indeed, semi-trucks are large and can be challenging to maneuver. However, truck drivers are expected to navigate public streets safely, and failure to do so constitutes negligence. Thus, victims’ families can seek justice for their loved one if negligence is present.

Attorneys can initiate independent investigations into the crash to better understand the moments leading up to the accident and what may have contributed to the tragic fatality. Lawyers experienced in handling accidents with semi-trucks are also aware of the tactics employed by some trucking companies to withhold insurance monies from victims and their families unless required. They can work diligently to get victims’ families the compensation and justice they desperately deserve.

For families of loved ones struck by semi-trucks, justice often comes in the form of compensation from truckers, trucking companies, and their insurance policies. A family’s pursuit of justice may also consist of holding wrongdoers responsible and drawing public attention, so other trucking companies take precautions to protect society from drivers’ negligent conduct. Finally, justice can simply include answers as to how this horrific accident occurred in the first place. Regardless of the justice sought, attorneys can assist families in any way possible to ensure the family can return to a new usual way of life.
