One killed in truck accident in Harris County after 18 wheeler and car collide

HARRIS COUNTY, Texas – At least one person died in a collision between a semi-truck and a small passenger vehicle in the pre-dawn hours of December 6, 2022, at 7000 Satsuma near Highway 529. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene.

Satsuma and the westbound lanes of Highway 529 were shut down for hours while authorities cleared debris from the roadway.

The accident is under investigation. No further information is currently available.

Further investigation is needed to determine fault and bring justice to the victim.

Here, it is unclear whether the individual killed in the crash was an occupant in the semi-truck or passenger vehicle. Regardless, the victim's family will likely want to know more about what happened to cause their loved one's unexpected passing. While authorities investigate the crash site, they often miss essential information that attorneys can access through discovery. Thus, families may desire an independent investigation of the accident after consulting with a skilled personal injury attorney.

Personal injury law aims to help victims and their families through difficult times by providing them with answers and options for justice. In these cases, an at-fault driver's insurance must compensate the victim's family for the wrongful death. However, drivers may not carry enough insurance coverage to compensate a family after an unexpected death. In the case of trucking accidents, there are generally more options for families seeking monetary damages to help them in their grief.

Attorneys at The Ammons Law Firm are familiar with accidents involving semi-trucks and know that commercial trucking companies can be held accountable for the actions of their drivers. Therefore, if the victim of this crash was an occupant of the smaller vehicle, the victim's family could likely bring a claim against the semi-truck driver and any affiliated trucking company. Additionally, our firm offers free independent investigations of trucking accidents, so the victim's family can get answers about what caused the crash. Independent accident investigations can also help determine whether other parties are responsible for the accident besides truck drivers and commercial trucking companies, leading to more avenues of potential compensation.

This is a terrible crash that has undoubtedly left friends and family mourning. We offer our condolences to the victim's family and pray they may find peace during this difficult time.
