2 tragically killed during head-on collision on Hwy 603 in Mississippi

HANCOCK COUNTY, Miss. — Edison Watson, 52, and Dawn Moore, 48, lost their lives Feb. 15 in a head-on collision on Highway 603 near Shiyou Road.

Local authorities said Watson was driving a 1995 Ford F-150 north on Hwy 603 when his vehicle collided with a southbound 2021 Dodge Ram driven by 68-year-old Patrick Kayda, of Bay St. Louis, Miss.

The head-on collision occurred at about 4:20 p.m.

Officials pronounced Watson and Moore, a passenger in the F-150, dead at the scene of the crash. Watson was a resident of Bay St. Louis, Miss. and Moore lived in Kiln, Miss.

Emergency personnel reportedly transported Kayda, and a passenger in his vehicle, 66-year-old Elizabeth Ann Paul, of Bay St. Louis, Miss., to a local hospital for treatment of severe injuries.

Officials with the Mississippi Highway Patrol are actively investigating the accident. No additional information was immediately available.
