Commentary on The Fatal Vehicle Fire Killing 2 in San Antonio
I am deeply saddened to learn two young men passed in this horrific accident. The effects of this crash will reverberate throughout the community for years to come. I offer my condolences to the families of the deceased and hope for their solace during this time of grief.
Some folks learning of this accident may be quick to judge the actions of the young men. Some may blame the boys and conclude this was just an unfortunate accident. However, it is essential to realize how significant a post-collision fire is. Vehicles are not designed to catch fire, and when they do, it is often the result of faulty design. My firm has represented clients across the nation in claims against auto manufactures when their vehicle bursts into flames. Multiple defects can cause post-collision fires. One of the primary causes is misplaced fuel lines. When auto manufacturers fail to design fuel lines correctly, the likelihood of post-collision fires significantly increases. It is difficult to determine what caused this post-collision fire without thoroughly reviewing the vehicles involved.
I hope the families left behind can find answers to their questions during this time of grief. Often, answers provide strength to move forward when the next step seems unbearable.
