18-wheeler accidents must be investigated to determine all responsibility
Even though some may assume the Cadillac driver must have been at fault for running into the back of a semi-truck, there may be other possible explanations as to the cause of this collision. In most accidents involving semi-trucks, victims' families benefit from an independent investigation into the crash to determine whether any other factors may have contributed to their loved one's death.
For example, sometimes truck manufacturers are held responsible for crashes involving semi-trucks when a mechanical failure makes the truck suddenly disabled. Other times, commercial trucking companies may be held accountable for failing to train their drivers regarding emergency protocol, such as setting out warning markers for traffic.
Often, authorities responding to the crash overlook these causes because they are not readily apparent at the crash site and require some digging into manufacturing history and company training records. However, most accidents involving semi-trucks also involve multiple responsible parties, many of whom carry insurance to help compensate victims' families if any wrongdoing is uncovered.
Working with trained attorneys to determine the exact cause of the crash and all latent factors that are not immediately apparent ensures that all wrongdoing is uncovered and that such negligence is prevented in the future. This is a serious crash that will leave much mourning. We pray they may find peace during this difficult time.
