Families of Loved ones Killed In Truck Accidents Have A Right to Bring A Wrongful Death Claim
The limited facts show that the semi-truck driver was likely negligent in turning onto the county road. Unfortunately, the victim’s family may face an uphill battle in getting the truck driver or trucking company to accept responsibility for the damage caused by the crash, including the loss of life and companionship felt by the family every day.
At our firm, we have experience dealing with commercial trucking companies in negligence claims. Often, we see trucking companies defend the negligent actions of their drivers in an attempt to preserve their national image. However, trucking companies can also be held responsible for the actions of their drivers through a legal principle known as respondeat superior. Thus, it is critically important that victims’ families consult with an attorney to ensure every party responsible for the death of their loved one is held accountable.
The claims of families should not be buried in the legal system by the tactics of attorneys hired to shield these large trucking companies from negligence. Indeed, no family should be financially burdened while bearing the pain and loss after their loved one’s passing, especially when the negligence of another caused the death.
At The Ammons Law Firm, we assist families of crash victims by developing a comprehensive strategy to obtain compensation, so they may begin to rebuild their lives in the wake of tragedy. We encourage any family who has recently lost a loved one in a collision with a semi-truck to seek legal counsel, obtain answers, and pursue justice through the legal system.
