One Killed in Collision with a semi-truck on NW Parkway in Azle, Texas

AZLE, Texas—One man died in a collision between an SUV and a semi-truck that occurred around 8:00 a.m. on October 20, 2022, near the 1300 block of NW Parkway.

According to initial reports, emergency personnel arrived on the accident scene to find that an SUV and semi-truck had collided. The 37-year-old driver of the SUV was critically injured and quickly taken to Texas Health Azle. Unfortunately, the driver later passed away. The condition of the semi-truck driver remains unknown.

The accident caused the closure of NW Parkway for approximately five hours.

The crash is under investigation. No further information is currently available.

Further investigation will determine the parties responsible for this crash

It is too early to speculate as to what happened to cause this horrific accident in Azle. Regardless of what the police report determines, families of the deceased often request to have the accident independently investigated to determine whether the truck driver and company may have been negligent.

Truck drivers have a duty to other drivers and pedestrians on the roadway to travel safely and avoid collisions. Sometimes, truck drivers can become distracted and fail to see smaller vehicles before it is too late. Other times, truck drivers have not received adequate training to know what to look for when driving on busy roadways. Indeed, commercial trucking companies are responsible for hiring qualified drivers and educating them on evasive maneuvers to avoid accidents. Suppose the truck driver or trucking company fails to act in a way that promotes safety and prevents fatal accidents. In that case, they may have to answer to victims or grieving families following a significant collision.

From what attorneys at our firm have seen, the police often do not have much time to investigate a crash beyond determining the most apparent cause of the accident. That is why we believe it is essential that victims receive all the information they might need to pursue justice for their loved ones. Further investigations often reveal that the surviving party was also partially to blame, and trucking companies often have more comprehensive insurance policies from which victims can receive compensation.

If the trucking company or driver is at fault for this accident, it is important that their actions are accounted for to ensure their negligent behavior is corrected. A man lost his life, and such a loss cannot go unanswered.
