Legal rights are available to those injured in a truck accident
If you are injured in a truck accident you have a right to recover financial compensation for the harm you have suffered if the accident was caused by another party’s negligence. There hasn’t been enough information provided to determine who caused this accident. However, considering the fact three people were injured and the passenger vehicle was pushed off the roadway, it is likely that this accident was caused by driver error.
According to a study conducted by the FMCSA, roughly 45% of accidents involving a semi-truck and a passenger vehicle are caused by the truck. Of those accidents, nearly 80% are caused by driver error of some sort. These errors cannot go unaccounted for, and negligent drivers must be held accountable. Holding drivers and their employers responsible for injuries caused by their actions Is the best way to prevent other accidents from occurring. A company that must financially compensate an injured victim for their driver’s actions has a strong incentive to prevent such actions from occurring in the future.
