Amy Storm was injured in a Ford F250 rollover accident on Interstate 90

WINONA COUNTY, MINNESOTA – Amy Storm of Dover, Minnesota, was injured in a rollover accident around 6:00 am on March 13, 2023. The accident happened on Interstate 90, milepost 262, near Pleasant Hill Township.

According to reports, Storm was traveling eastbound on Interstate 90 in a 2005 Ford F250 when she lost control of her truck, leaving the snow-covered roadway and rolling.

Storm, who was wearing her seatbelt, suffered injuries in the crash and was transported to Winona Health for treatment of unspecified injuries.

The Winona EMS and Winona County Sheriff’s Office responded to the accident.

Ford F250 trucks have notoriously weak roofs that result in preventable injuries during rollover accidents

This is a serious accident that could have proven fatal. Rollover accidents are one of the most dangerous accidents on our roadways, claiming nearly 10,000 lives a year. I am very grateful to learn that Ms. Storm survived this crash, and I hope she makes a full and speedy recovery.

It is important to understand that motorists injured in single-vehicle rollover accidents are not without recourse. When a motorist is injured in a rollover accident because the vehicle did not provide adequate protection, the motorist has a right to bring a product liability claim against the manufacturer of the vehicle and recover the damages caused by the crash.

Turn-of-the-century model Fords are known to have roofs that crush during the rollover sequence (weak roofs), seriously injuring the occupants of the vehicles. In these cases, it is important to have trained attorneys investigate the crash and inspect the vehicle to determine whether the truck provided the survival space needed to protect the occupants from serious injury. A motorist involved in a rollover accident that was not provided sufficient survival space will suffer injuries that should have been preventable had the roof been designed properly. The manufacturer of the vehicle is responsible for the medical care and treatment associated with these injuries, as well as other damages resulting from these injuries. While these cases are difficult, they can provide victims of serious injuries an avenue of financial recovery to rebuild their lives and cover the costs of medical care caused by the crash.

It will be important to have the vehicle preserved in its post-accident condition to ensure the exact mechanism of injury can be determined.
