Rollover accident on Highway 60 leaves Cody Uithoven injured

JACKSON COUNTY, MINNESOTA – 27-year-old Cody Uithoven was injured in a rollover accident on Highway 60 on March 13, 2023.

The accident happened on Highway 60 near milepost 37 as Uithoven was traveling eastbound in a 1997 Chevy pickup truck. According to reports, Uithoven lost control of the vehicle on snow/icy roads and rolled over.

Uithoven was wearing his seatbelt at the time of the crash and suffered unspecified injuries. He was transported to Windom Hospital for treatment.

No further information was immediately available.

The accident will need to be investigated to determine if the vehicle was crashworthy

Single-vehicle rollover accidents happen with alarming frequency on our roadways, and auto manufacturers are responsible for producing vehicles that can withstand the force of impact in such crashes. This means the vehicle’s roof must not collapse into the survival space of the occupants during the rollover sequence. A vehicle must be produced with a roof structure that can withstand the rollover sequence, protecting its occupants.

When an auto manufacturer fails to produce a vehicle that can withstand the force of a foreseeable rollover accident, and a motorist suffers injuries as a result, the manufacturer may be responsible for the injuries and damages suffered in the crash.

Trained attorneys will need to investigate this accident and inspect this vehicle to determine whether Mr. Uithoven was provided ample protection during this crash and if he has a right to bring a claim against Chevy for his injuries. While these cases are difficult, they can provide victims of serious injuries an avenue of financial recovery to rebuild their lives and cover the costs of medical care caused by the crash.
