St. Louis, County – According to Missouri State Highway Patrol officers, Alayna Yacoub was injured in a rollover accident after her tire blew out.
Ms. Yacoub was traveling westbound on Interstate 44 East near Lewis Road when her 1993 UMC Aeromate Van suffered a rear-left tire blowout. The sudden tire failure caused the vehicle to run off the right side of the road before the driver overcorrected to the left, causing the vehicle to overturn.
Authorities released information regarding injuries in the crash. Ms. Yacoub sustained unspecified injuries and was transported to Mercy Hospital in St. Louis for treatment.
No further information was immediately available.
The cause of the blowout must be investigated.
When a rollover accident results from a tire blowout, it is important to have the crash investigated to determine what caused the tire to fail. Many tire blowout accidents are caused by tires that were improperly repaired or installed by a tire shop and tires inherently defective from the time they left the manufacturer. When a tire fails because someone did not do their job correctly, the injured motorist has a right to bring a personal injury claim against the negligent party and recover the financial assistance they need to cover medical expenses and compensate them for the value of their pain and suffering.
These are complicated personal injury cases that require the help of trained attorneys with experience in tire defect litigation. While difficult, they are often necessary and always just. Wrongdoers should not be permitted to escape liability when their actions cause an innocent victim to suffer life-altering injuries. Depending on the extent of this woman’s injuries, she may face tens of thousands of dollars in medical care and permanent life changes. Such an injustice cannot be left unanswered.
