Man Killed in a Head-on Accident Between Two Semi-trucks on Interstate 40 in Lebanon, Tennessee

Wilson County, Tenn. — A truck driver was killed after a semi-truck collided with their truck. The incident happened Tuesday night on Interstate 40 in Lebanon.

According to reports, a westbound tractor-trailer crossed over the median and collided with another tractor-trailer in the eastbound lanes. The driver of the eastbound truck, a 66-year-old man, was killed in the crash.

The Tennessee Highway Patrol reported that charges may be pending against the driver who crossed over the median.

No additional details have been released.

The at-fault truck driver must be held accountable for this unspeakable loss

There is no excuse for what happened. Most head-on collisions are preventable and often result from driver mistakes, such as distraction, fatigue, impairment, or mechanical problems that could have been avoided with proper maintenance and inspections. The truck driver should be held accountable, as should the trucking company if it knew or should have known that its truck or driver was not roadworthy.

The surviving family deserves answers and justice. Losing a loved one is always painful, but an unexpected loss brings immense emotional and physical suffering, along with unanticipated financial strain. When this loss is due to someone else’s negligence, those affected should have the right to hold the responsible parties accountable.
