Two People Sustain Injuries in an Accident Involving a Crane Truck with Low Tire Pressure on Interstate 75 in Manatee County, Florida

Manatee County, FL – A crane truck collided with a Land Rover SUV Thursday afternoon on Interstate 75 in Manatee County.

According to reports, a northbound crane truck’s right front tire suddenly lost air pressure, causing the vehicle to spin out of control.

The truck then collided with the front of an SUV traveling northbound. After the impact, the crane truck overturned onto its left side.

Both drivers were transported to local hospitals with injuries not considered life-threatening.

The images of the tire provided by the news station appear to show that the failed tire lost its tread. This is known as a tread separation tire failure and may have resulted from a defect in the tire. This means the tire may have been a ticking time bomb from the moment it left the manufacturer and that the injured workers and the company that owned the truck had little control over whether it failed or not.

Those injured in the crash deserve to know whether the accident occurred because the manufacturer of the tire chose to produce a sub-par tire at the expense of the motoring public. Innocent victims should not have to bear the consequences of corporations that put profits over people.
