Ford Recalls Nearly 12,000 Trucks Over Steering Safety Concern


Detroit – Ford Motor Company has issued a recall for approximately 11,922 of its 2023-2024 F-150 Lightning electric trucks due to a potential steering defect that increases the risk of a crash, according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA).

The recall addresses an issue with the front upper control arm ball joint nut, which may not have been properly tightened during assembly. This defect could lead to the control arm detaching from the knuckle assembly, potentially resulting in a loss of steering and increasing the likelihood of an accident.

Ford dealerships will inspect the affected vehicles and replace the ball joint nut or knuckle assembly as needed at no cost to the owner.
