Nicolette Wallace and Tara Weitzel Injured in a Semi-Truck Accident on U.S. Highway 14 in Richland Center, Wisconsin

Richland Center, Wis. – A crash involving a semi-truck on U.S. Highway 14 sent two Wisconsin residents to the hospital on Friday morning with non-life-threatening injuries.

According to reports, the incident occurred when a semi-truck failed to stop at a red light at the intersection of County Highway O and U.S. Highway 14.

The semi collided with two vehicles traveling parallel on County Highway O. The drivers of those vehicles, 40-year-old Nicolette Wallace of Hillsboro and 46-year-old Tara Weitzel of Richland Center, were transported to a local hospital for treatment.

Additional details have not been released.

Commercial trucks cannot ignore traffic rules without accountability

No one should suffer injuries because a truck driver failed to follow basic traffic laws. It is deeply unjust when responsible drivers who follow the rules sustain life-altering injuries due to someone else’s recklessness—particularly when the negligent party is driving a large, heavy vehicle capable of causing serious harm.

The injured drivers in this incident now face unexpected medical bills, financial strain from lost income, and the emotional trauma that follows such devastating accidents. Many states allow victims of truck crashes to pursue compensation for damages, including medical expenses, lost wages, and pain and suffering. This is right, considering the women injured here did nothing wrong.

I sincerely hope Ms. Wallace and Ms. Weitzel make a full recovery and receive the support they need during this difficult time.
