Two Injured in a Concrete Truck Accident on Beltway 8 in Houston, Texas


Houston, TX —An accident during rush hour on Beltway 8 resulted in a concrete truck plunging off an overpass onto the roadway below, leaving one person dead and two others injured. The incident happened on Tuesday morning.

Authorities report the incident involved five vehicles. The crash began when a concrete truck collided with a meal delivery truck on the Sam Houston Tollway. The impact caused the concrete truck to breach the barrier wall and fall onto the traffic below.

The driver of the meal delivery truck suffered life-threatening injuries but is expected to recover.

A Toyota Camry driver was also hospitalized after a metal camera pole, knocked down by the falling truck, struck her vehicle. Officials confirmed she sustained a concussion but is expected to survive.

No additional details have been released.
