Man Killed in Motorcycle-box Truck Accident on Highway 98 in Okaloosa County, Florida


Okaloosa County, Fla. –  A 50-year-old man died when a box truck collided with his motorcycle. The incident happened Monday morning.

According to reports, a Freightliner box truck rear-ended a Harley-Davidson motorcycle in the outside lane of eastbound US Highway 98.

The motorcycle rider was pronounced dead at the scene.

No additional details have been released.

Thoughts on motorcycles and truck collisions

What factors prevented the driver from stopping in time? Was the driver properly trained? Distracted? Texting or speeding? Under the influence? What about the trucking company?
