One Man Dies in an Accident with a Disabled Semi-Truck on Interstate 75 Marion County, Florida

Marion County, FL — A 27-year-old man lost his life in a crash involving a disabled semi-truck. The incident happened Sunday afternoon on the shoulder of Interstate 75.

According to reports, the car was traveling southbound in the outside lane when it veered into the emergency shoulder for unknown reasons. The vehicle collided with the rear of a tractor-trailer that was stopped on the shoulder due to a mechanical issue.

The driver, who was the sole occupant of the car, sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene by Marion County Fire Rescue paramedics.

No additional details have been released.

Trucking companies must adhere to safety standards and cannot expect to avoid liability when they fail to do so. If they neglect their responsibilities and cause harm, they can and should be held accountable.

While money cannot bring a loved one back, it is the law’s way of acknowledging wrongdoing and the pain and suffering faced daily by those left behind.
