Semi-Truck Driver Kills Cyclist in Hit-and-Run Accident on Sam Houston Parkway East in Houston, Texas


Houston, TX –  A 53-year-old cyclist died after they were struck by an 18-wheeler in a hit-and-run crash. The incident happened early Friday morning in the eastbound lanes of Sam Houston Parkway East while the cyclist was riding to work.

According to police, the truck did not stop after hitting the man. A witness called 911, and emergency responders, including firefighters and paramedics, arrived at the scene. Despite their efforts, the cyclist was pronounced dead.

No further information has been released.

What a sad, terrible accident. We do not have much detail to determine what happened or to draw conclusions, but the surviving family deserves answers. If wrongdoing or negligence occurred on the part of the semi-truck, they need to be held accountable.
