Two People Seriously Injured in a Rollover Accident in Jamestown, North Dakota

Jamestown, N.D. – Two people sustained critical injuries in a single-vehicle rollover accident. The incident happened Thursday morning in the 1500 block of 4th Street, northwest Jamestown.

According to reports, officers found a 2010 Dodge Journey at the bottom of a steep embankment on the south side of the road. A passerby heard a female occupant’s cries for help and called emergency services.

Rescue squad members had to extricate the male driver from the vehicle while the female passenger had been ejected. Both were initially taken to Jamestown Regional Medical Center before being transferred to a hospital in Fargo for treatment of life-threatening injuries.

The vehicle and its occupants are believed to have been at the scene for an extended period before being discovered.

No additional details have been released.

Rollover accidents that result in serious injury must be investigated

People often think all injuries are solely due to the driver’s actions and the crash in single-vehicle rollover accidents. However, this isn’t always true. Rollover injuries can often occur due to design flaws that should have been prevented if the vehicle was designed adequately.

Historically, many SUV models have been unable to endure a rollover’s impact. Their roofs often collapse, crushing the occupants, while seatbelts fail to restrain, and airbags do not deploy. This has led to serious injuries such as limb damage, brain and spinal injuries, and even fatalities.

When essential safety features like seatbelts and airbags fail, the manufacturer is responsible, and they should be held accountable for any resulting injuries caused by these flaws.

A thorough investigation and examination of the vehicle by trained professionals is important to determine if it was defective. It is important that all the facts come to light and that the injured receive compensation if it is concluded that defects caused them further injury.
