Johnny Williams Killed in a Workplace Accident at Whitestown Waste Management Facility, Indianapolis


Whitestown, Ind. — A man died at the facility he was working at on Tuesday afternoon. The incident happened at the Whitestown Waste Management facility.

According to the Whitestown Metropolitan Police Department, first responders received a call reporting a pedestrian struck with traumatic injuries. Upon arrival, medics pronounced 59-year-old Johnny Williams of Indianapolis dead at the scene.

The preliminary reports indicate Williams was struck by a work vehicle.

A contract worker lost his life six months prior when a large stone crushed him.

Fatal work accidents must be investigated

Something went wrong here. Why did the work vehicle not see someone nearby, leading to fatally striking them? Was there no clear communication system in place? Preventable accidents like this should never happen, and when they do, the people responsible should be held responsible. The deceased’s surviving family deserves answers.
