One Pedestrian Dead, Another Injured in a Box Truck Accident in Greenfield, Indiana

Greenfield, Ind. — A man is dead, and a woman is in the hospital after being struck by a box truck used for paper shredding. The incident happened in the parking lot of a Community Health Network office in Greenfield around 10 a.m.

According to reports, an employee of Shred-it was operating a box truck. The employee was outside the truck shredding documents when the truck suddenly lunged forward. The truck struck a parked vehicle, the man, the woman, and another parked vehicle before coming to a stop.

The man was pronounced dead at the scene. Emergency personnel transported the woman to a hospital for further treatment.
