One Person Dies in a Head-on Accident with a Dump Truck on State Road 44 DeLand, Florida


DeLand, Fla. —  One person was killed after a head-on collision with a dump truck. The incident happened on State 44 Friday morning.

According to reports, an eastbound dump truck was traveling eastbound and swerved into the westbound lane, colliding head-on with another vehicle.

The driver of the other vehicle, a 35-year-old, was pronounced dead at the scene.

No additional details have been provided.

With little to no time to react, innocent motorists rarely can survive head-on collisions. What makes these accidents even more tragic is that they are often preventable.
