One Person Dies in a Tire Failure Accident on State Road 47 and SW Vixen Way in Fort White, Florida

Fort White, Fla. — A person was killed after the vehicle they were traveling in experienced tire failure. The incident happened at the intersection of State Road 47 and SW Vixen Way.

According to reports, a 2003 Ford F-150 was traveling north when it experienced a tire issue, veering off the road and colliding with a tree.

The 18-year-old driver was pronounced dead at the scene by officials. The investigation into the crash is ongoing.

People killed in tire-related crashes need to know if the tire was defective and if the manufacturer is responsible.

When we consider tire failures, we often assume they result from poor maintenance or bad luck. However, this is not always true. Tires can fail due to a bad repair job or be defective from the start. Failures caused by defective tires are not mere accidents; they occur because manufacturers produce and sell tires that should not be on the road.

Manufacturers know the risks of producing defective tires and the legal requirement to design and manufacture safe products. However, to save time and reduce costs, or sometimes due to mistakes, they may produce tires with poor design and construction, putting drivers at risk. The manufacturer must be held responsible when a defective tire causes serious injury or death.

Trained professionals need to inspect this tire to determine what caused its failure. During the investigation, the family will get answers about what happened and whether this accident could have been avoided. If it’s concluded the tire was defective or failed because of a poor maintenance job, they can hold the manufacturer or repair shop responsible and help prevent similar accidents in the future.
