One Person Injured in a Dump Truck Tire Blowout Accident on Interstate 70 in Putnam County, Indiana

Putnam County, IN –  A truck driver sustained non-life-threatening injuries when their dump truck suffered a tire blowout. The incident happened on Interstate 70.

According to reports, the driver’s side tire blew out, causing the truck to veer into the median, break through a guide wire, and roll over, stopping in the eastbound driving lane.

No additional details have been provided.

The driver deserves justice and compensation if this tire failed because it was defective

When a commercial truck’s tire suddenly bursts, it might seem like a random, unfortunate circumstance. But this isn’t always the case. Many tire truck accidents happening across the country are not by chance: they occur due to defective tires. These faulty tires should never have made it from the manufacturers to our roadways, highlighting a serious issue that demands attention and accountability.

We are seeing more and more cases like the one that happened in Putnam County. We recently handled a case involving a long-haul trucker driving through Arizona. As he neared an overpass, one of his tires suddenly failed, causing him to lose control and crash onto the road below. The accident resulted in an explosion that took the life of an innocent man. We worked with the surviving family to uncover the real cause of the tire failure, and the tire manufacturer was held responsible for the loss of life due to the defective product.

Unfortunately, this is one example of many similar cases we are handling. The same defective truck tire failures are happening in various states, such as Arizona, California, South Carolina, Illinois, Texas, New Mexico, and Utah.

Defective tires have nothing to do with proper tire maintenance and everything to do with a manufacturing issue. However, tire manufacturers try to escape responsibility by placing blame on the trucking company for failing to conduct proper tire maintenance. This is unfair and irresponsible since they know this is untrue, and not owning responsibility only leads to more terrible accidents.

Tire defect accidents are often complex and require thorough investigation. Trained professionals must examine the tire to determine the cause of the failure. If defects are found to be the cause, those injured deserve justice and compensation. Having a law firm with extensive knowledge and experience is important in effectively holding negligent manufacturers accountable and securing the compensation the victims deserve.
