Personal Injury Lawyers File a Lawsuit Against Bridgestone Tires After Fatal Crash Caused by a Defective Tire

The Ammons Law Firm has filed a lawsuit against Bridgestone Americas Tire Operations, LLC, and Flores Tire Service, on behalf of the family whose loved one was killed in a crash caused by a faulty tire. The lawsuit is brought on behalf of the surviving wife and three children of the decedent.

The accident involved a truck driver who had recently had the steer axle tire on his semi-truck replaced by Flores Tire Services, which installed a 2012 Bridgestone tire. At the time of the installation, the tire was past its useful life—a warning that Flores allegedly withheld from the decedent. While the man was operating the truck, the tire suffered a tread separation, causing the fatal crash.

The firm alleges that this is not the only instance where this model of Bridgestone tire has failed and led to someone’s death. According to the lawsuit, the Bridgestone tire at issue was designed with an inner liner too thin for a steer axle tire. As a result, air permeates into the tire’s body, increasing the likelihood of tread separation.

The plaintiffs claim several causes of action against Bridgestone. The plaintiffs’ first cause of action alleges that the failed tire was defectively designed and manufactured, evidenced by its thin inner liner and signs of poor bonding found while inspecting the tire.

The second cause of action alleges Bridgestone was negligent for not warning its customers of the dangerous condition of the tire and failing to adequately test the tire in real-world use cases.

The third cause of action alleges that Bridgestone was grossly negligent and should be subject to exemplary damages because it was subjectively aware of the extreme risk of harm but acted indifferent towards it, a blatant disregard for the welfare of its clients.

The plaintiffs seek wrongful death and survival damages for the loss of their loved one.

The Ammons Law Firm is committed to obtaining the justice the plaintiffs deserve. The firm operates under a contingency contract, meaning payment for the services provided are deducted from the settlement, therefore no upfront payment is required.
