Pasco, Wash. – Two people were injured after the truck they were traveling in rolled over. The incident happened on the SR 395 ramp in Pasco on Tuesday.

According to reports, the driver of the truck was heading northbound when they swerved and hit a guard rail, rolling over.

Two occupants were taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

When defects in a vehicle cause injury, those harmed deserve compensation for their losses

Many assume the driver is solely at fault for injuries caused by a rollover accident. While it is true that drivers should exercise caution to avoid such collisions, the responsibility doesn’t always start there. For decades, some manufacturers have failed motorists by designing vehicles too weak to withstand rollovers, leading to additional injuries for the occupants. This should never happen: defective vehicles should never reach our roadways.

Manufacturers are well aware that rollover accidents occur frequently. Therefore, there is no excuse for designing a truck with a structure that can collapse or crush upon impact. This structural failure happens often in rollovers, causing serious injuries and even death to the occupants. Other common defects include seatbelts that fail to restrain properly and airbags that do not deploy. When these essential safety features fail, it is not the driver’s fault—it is the manufacturer’s responsibility, and they should be held accountable when these defects cause harm.

Rollover accidents are complex. Training professionals must examine the vehicle to determine if a manufacturing defect caused injuries.

We hope those injured in this accident recover swiftly.
