Person Killed at Oak Grove Power Plant in Robertson County, Texas

Robertson County, Texas – A person working at the Oak Grove Power Plant died after sustaining severe head trauma. The incident happened Monday morning.

According to reports, the worker was pronounced dead at the scene.

The Oak Grove Power Plant, located near Franklin, has been in the spotlight following a series of incidents. Last week, five workers were injured when a silo, owned and operated by a third-party entity, collapsed at the site. Last year, a deadly boiler explosion claimed the life of a 50-year-old worker, while four others were hospitalized in February following a chemical release.

Luminant, the company overseeing plant operations, acknowledged the event but did not disclose specific information, referring to it as “a difficult day.”

This facility needs to be investigated, and all wrongdoers should be held accountable

I am deeply troubled that a worker lost their life at this plant on Monday. Just last week, five other workers were injured when a silo collapsed at the very same plant. Companies play a pivotal role in ensuring a safe working environment by taking proactive measures such as organizing sites effectively, providing workers with suitable safety gear, and offering thorough training on safety protocols. These basic steps can significantly diminish the likelihood of accidents and prioritize the well-being of workers. What safety measures does this site have in place?

A thorough investigation must be conducted to ensure the surviving family receives the justice and answers they need. All wrongdoing must be revealed and those responsible held accountable.
