Casselton, North Dakota Truck Accident | Reported Injuries and Fatality

Casselton, N.D. – A two-vehicle collision during icy conditions resulted in the death of one driver and left another person seriously injured. The crash occurred on Interstate 94, 12 miles west of Casselton, on Wednesday morning.

According to the North Dakota Highway Patrol, a semi-tractor towing a van trailer jackknifed while attempting to brake near two other jackknifed trucks in the median. The semi-trailer came to rest across the eastbound lanes, blocking traffic.

A Volkswagen Tiguan in the right lane collided with the semi’s trailer and lodged underneath. The Volkswagen driver was pronounced dead at the scene. A passenger in the Volkswagen sustained serious injuries and was transported to a hospital in Fargo for treatment.

Both occupants of the Volkswagen were reportedly wearing seat belts.

Surviving Families and the Injured Deserve Answers and Justice for Their Suffering and Loss

A serious truck crash can happen in seconds. It only takes one driver to ignore basic traffic laws to cause devastating consequences, leaving victims with serious, life-changing injuries, families without their loved ones, emotional trauma, and financial burdens from lost income and growing medical bills.

In the aftermath of a tragic accident like this, victims and their families are often left asking, “What do we do now?” Initial police reports may not provide all the answers; in some cases, victims may feel something is off but aren’t sure what questions to ask. No one should face this sense of uncertainty alone.

But there is help. Many states allow victims of truck accidents to seek compensation for damages, such as medical expenses, lost wages, and pain and suffering—even when fault is shared. That’s why it’s critical to understand your rights and the legal process to pursue justice for injuries or the loss of a loved one.

However, not all attorneys are equipped to handle cases involving trucking companies. These cases require someone with deep experience who won’t settle for quick payouts or allow blame-shifting tactics. Victims and their families deserve an attorney who will stand by their side every step of the way, fighting for the justice and compensation they need to rebuild their lives.

I hope the injured here fully recover and that the family receives the guidance and answers it needs to move forward.
