Michigan Interstate 96 Crash: Semi-Truck Slams into Stopped Traffic Near Webberville, Killing Four and Leaving 17 Injured


Webberville, Mich. — A crash on Interstate 96 has claimed four lives and left 17 others injured after a semi-truck slammed into a line of vehicles stopped in traffic Saturday night.

According to Michigan State Police, the semi-truck was traveling westbound when it failed to stop for traffic halted by ongoing utility work. The impact ignited a chain reaction, setting several vehicles ablaze.

Authorities confirmed the deceased as a 29-year-old Carson City man driving a Ford pickup and three family members from Lansing in a Chevy Trax, identified as a 20-year-old woman, a 43-year-old woman, and a 47-year-old man. Seventeen others, including the truck driver, were injured and taken to local hospitals.
