Federal Regulators Warn Against Use of Hazardous Baby Loungers Following Infant Deaths: Yoocaa, DHZJM, Cosy Nation, and Hyhuudth

As attorneys at The Ammons Law Firm, we are gravely concerned by recent warnings from federal safety regulators regarding baby loungers that have been linked to the tragic suffocation deaths of multiple infants. The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) is urging parents and caregivers to stop using baby loungers sold under the brands Yoocaa, DHZJM, Cosy Nation, and Hyhuudth after reports surfaced of five infant fatalities.

In addition, DNYSYSJ and OUKANING cradle swings are under heightened scrutiny after another infant suffocated in a product of a similar design. This latest incident brings the total number of deaths linked to these loungers and swings to six.

Reports indicate that the Yoocaa-branded loungers have been connected to two infant fatalities: one involving a three-month-old who became fatally trapped between an adult bed and a wall in 2021 and a second case in 2022 where a four-month-old infant was found unresponsive after being placed in a lounger with a blanket. Similarly, Mamibaby and DHZJM loungers have been linked to additional infant deaths, with reports indicating design flaws that make them unsafe for infant sleep.

Baby Products Failed to Meet Safety Standards

According to the CPSC, these products fail to meet federal safety standards for infant sleep due to design defects, including dangerously low sides and sleeping pads thick enough to pose a serious suffocation hazard. The DNYSYSJ and OUKANING cradle swings also pose significant suffocation and fall risks, leading to further safety warnings.

At The Ammons Law Firm, we believe manufacturers have a duty to ensure their products are safe, particularly when they are intended for infants. When that duty is neglected, and tragedies occur, affected families may be entitled to pursue a claim for financial recovery. Taking legal action in cases involving defective products can provide essential support to families dealing with permanent, life-altering injuries or fatalities and hold negligent manufacturers accountable.
