Juan Medina Martinez Killed in Fatal Fall at World Equestrian Center Construction Site in Ocala, Florida

Ocala, Fla. – A construction worker died after falling approximately 40 feet at the World Equestrian Center while working on a new hotel project.

According to an incident report, 29-year-old Juan Medina Martinez fell while transitioning between tiers of scaffolding. The report states he detached his safety harness, and a wooden board shifted, causing him to fall onto the concrete foundation below.

The Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) has been notified and is involved.
