Recall Issued for HALO Portable Power Stations

Halo Portable Power Station Lawsuits

The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) has recalled thousands of HALO 1000 portable power stations due to concerns that overheating lithium-ion batteries may cause fires.

This recall affects approximately 5,700 units sold by ZAGG Inc. of Midvale, Utah; Alliance Consumer Group (ACG) of Roanoke, Texas; and QVC Inc. of West Chester, Pennsylvania. The devices, priced between $1,000 and $1,300, were available for purchase between October 2021 and March 2022.

The action follows a fatal incident in June 2022 in Bradenton, Florida, where a 79-year-old man passed away from smoke inhalation caused by a fire linked to one of these power stations. In addition to this case, the companies involved have received four additional reports of fires, two of which resulted in smoke inhalation injuries, including one that caused burns.

The HALO 1000 Portable Power Station is a high-capacity power bank with multiple charging ports, AC and DC outputs, a built-in floodlight, an LCD screen, and a collapsible handle.

Consumers who own this product are urged to stop using it immediately and contact the manufacturer for guidance on a safe return and refund.
