Two Men Hospitalized After Rollover Accident on Missouri’s Highway 7 Near Pleasant Hill

Pleasant Hill, Mo. – A rollover crash on a rural stretch of Highway 7 near Elliot Road left two men seriously injured early Sunday morning.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol reports that emergency crews were after a 2012 Ford F-250 veered off the road, struck a guardrail sign, and overturned.

The 20-year-old driver from Smithton and his 20-year-old passenger from Sedalia were transported to Research Hospital in Kansas City with serious injuries.

No additional details have been released.

The injured men deserve to know if the F-250 protected them from injury

When a car rolls over, it’s essential to look at both what made it roll AND if the car was safe enough during the crash. Trucks can roll for many reasons – bad roads, bad weather, or how someone’s driving. However, once a truck starts rolling, the manufacturer has a duty to produce a vehicle that can protect the driver and passenger from serious injury or death whenever possible.

The problem is that some trucks may have defects that cause people to suffer more serious injuries than they should.  For instance, in some trucks, the roof might be too weak to support the truck’s weight and crush inward, smashing the people inside. To really understand what happened, the truck needs to be carefully inspected. This will help us determine whether the safety features worked as they should have. Did the roof stay strong? Did the seatbelts and airbags work properly?

If the vehicle had any manufacturer defects, the injured deserve to hold the manufacturer responsible for their injuries. It is not fair to suffer life-altering injuries because a company did not do its job.
