Semi-Truck Head-on Crash with Two Vehicles on State Route 165 Critically Injures One Person  in Unity Township, Ohio

Unity Township, OH — A serious head-on collision involving a semi-truck and two other vehicles shut down State Route 165 on Friday afternoon.  Emergency responders worked to rescue a driver trapped beneath the truck’s cab.

According to the Ohio State Highway Patrol (OSHP), the driver of the trapped vehicle, a woman, was critically injured and was airlifted to St. Elizabeth Hospital.

Initial investigations by OSHP indicate the semi-truck crossed the center line, colliding head-on with her vehicle. A third vehicle traveling behind also sustained significant front-end and body damage from the incident.

In a statement issued early Saturday, OSHP confirmed that the semi-truck driver appeared to be distracted at the time of the crash, though there was no evidence of drug or alcohol involvement.
