Texas Semi-Truck Driver Arrested Following Fatal Crash at County Highway A and County Highway G Intersection in Courtland, Wisconsin

Courtland, WI –  A 21-year-old woman has died following a fatal crash involving a semi-truck. The incident happened in the town of Courtland on Friday.

Preliminary reports state the semi-truck failed to stop at a stop sign at the County Highway A and County Highway G Intersection. The semi entered the path of the passenger truck, causing the collision.

The woman was transported via MedFlight to a nearby hospital, where she later succumbed to her injuries.

The driver of the semi-truck has been arrested and charged with homicide by negligent operation of a motor vehicle.

Semi-truck crashes need to be investigated

When a semi-truck runs a stop sign and causes a fatal crash, it leaves a family devastated and searching for answers. Authorities and professionals need to step in and uncover what really happened in this tragic incident.

At first glance, this may seem like a clear-cut case of driver negligence. But our experience has shown that the full story is often more complex.

The truck driver and trucking company hold crucial pieces of this puzzle. The driver’s account, while potentially guarded, can provide valuable insights. More importantly, the trucking company has access to a wealth of information: the driver’s training records, hours of service logs, dash cam footage, and data from the truck itself. This data can reveal speed, braking patterns, and other critical details from the moments before the crash.

But trucking companies don’t always share this information willingly. They might try to minimize their liability or push for quick settlements. That’s why the tools available during litigation, like depositions and thorough investigations, are so important. They help uncover the full story behind the tragedy.

Getting to the truth isn’t just about assigning blame. It’s about providing answers to a grieving family, holding all responsible parties accountable, and preventing similar tragedies in the future. We hope everyone affected by this incident gets the support and clarity they need during this difficult time.
