Two Hospitalized After Semi-Truck Crash on U.S. Route 127 in New Weston, Ohio

New Weston, OH — Two individuals were hospitalized following a Sunday night collision between two semi-tractor trailers. The crash happened at U.S. Route 127 and State Route 705 intersection.

Authorities reported that a westbound Freightliner carrying yogurt failed to yield at the intersection, colliding with a northbound Peterbilt 389 hauling eggs. The impact caused both trucks and their trailers to overturn.

The driver of the Peterbilt was extricated from the vehicle and transported to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Thoughts on truck crashes

When two semi-trucks crash, the results can be catastrophic. Victims are left to deal with the aftermath while searching for answers about what happens next. In situations like this, authorities and professionals must clearly explain what went wrong.

The injured driver deserves to know whether the Freightliner truck driver had a history of driving negligently and whether other factors led to them failing to yield. The trucking company can help with this.

Trucking companies hold crucial details that can help uncover details that led to the accident. They have records of the drivers’ training, their time on the road, and any mechanical issues the trucks may have had. Additionally, dashcam footage and data from the trucks’ onboard systems can give insight into speed, braking, and steering right before the crash.

However, some companies may delay sharing this critical information to avoid blame or financial consequences. In these cases, legal action can be necessary. Depositions and vehicle inspections often help reveal the facts that might otherwise remain hidden.

By thoroughly investigating truck accidents, we can not only help victims seek justice but also push for improvements that could prevent future accidents. Those injured in this crash deserve a complete understanding of what happened and why.

We hope the victim finds the support and answers they need as they navigate this difficult time.
